Here’s a trailer for an upcoming folklore-inspired monster movie titled Around the decayThe film is said to offer “a fresh take on the monster movie formula with roots that extend into psychological and folk horror.”
The film was also inspired by horror films such as Pumpkin head AND CubeIn the film, a young woman returns to the site of her broken engagement, Newport’s Valley, NH, a sleepy tourist town with an all-consuming secret that hides something sinister.
The synopsis reads: “When a lost hiker is taken in by prominent locals, Kenzie, newcomer Roz, and mysterious outsider Munroe find themselves caught between the town’s faction leaders and embroiled in a sinister, ancient plot dating back to its founder that threatens the town’s survival and their very lives.
Around the decay It is written and directed by Adam Newman and the stars Victoria Mirror like Kenzie, Damian Maffei, Siena Hubert Ross, Melody Kay, Duran Thread, Sarah NicklinAND Roger Clark.
The director said: “Around the decay It has a lot of heart and character, but it doesn’t skimp on the scares or the blood. Plus, it has a new original monster that we can’t wait to introduce you all to.”
The practical creature was designed by a veteran special effects artist Greg McDougall. Around the decay will be released in October 2024.
