The second season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians has just started production and Disney+ has released a preview for fans called the “Start of Production Tease.”
The video premiered over the weekend at the D23 Expo and has since been posted online for those of you who couldn’t make it there to watch.
The second season will tell the story of the second book in the series, The Sea of Monstersand this promotion gives us a little taste of what awaits us.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 1 is based on the first novel in by Rick Riordan critically acclaimed book series, The Lightning Thief.
The stars of the series Scobell Walker (The Adam Project) as the titular demigod, this eight-episode first season finds Percy on a mission to return the stolen Master Thunderbolt to Zeus, while being framed as the prime suspect.
“If he is not successful by the summer solstice deadline, the world will suffer the consequences of the internal strife on Mount Olympus.”
In season two, “Percy Jackson returns to Camp Half-Blood a year later to find his world turned upside down. His friendship with Annabeth is changing, he discovers he has a Cyclops brother, Grover is missing, and the camp is under siege by Kronos’ forces.
“Percy’s journey to set things right takes him off the map and into the deadly Sea of Monsters, where a secret fate awaits the son of Poseidon.”
The series also features the participation of Aryan Simhadri (Grover Underwood), Leah Jeffries (Annabeth Chase), Glynn Turman (Chiron), Jason Mantzukas (1970-1985) is a famous person. (Dionysus), Dior Men (Clarisse La Rue), Charlie Bushnell (Luca), Adam “Edge” Copeland (Ares), Jay Duplass (Hades), Lin Manuel Miranda (Hermes), Timothy Omundson (Hephaestus), Lance Reddick (Zeus), and Toby Stephen (Poseidon).
When talking about the second season Scobell and Aryan Simhadri she said, “He looks older.” Leah Jeffries added, “He looks more mature. It’s definitely a little over the top.”
