James Wan is producing a new monster movie for Universal Pictures through his production company Atomic Monster, and it will be written and directed by Leah McKendrick.
McKendrick is best known as a writer, director and star of ScrambledHe recently wrote the screenplay for the next I know what you did last summer rebirth film with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson attached to direct and Jennifer Love-Hewitt AND Freddie Prinze Jr. in talks to reprise their roles.
As for this new horror film project, all we know is that it is based on folklore and that the story will revolve around a mythological monster.
I love films that play with folklore and it will be interesting to see what kind of story this film tells.
