Epic Pictures Group has released the trailer for the upcoming Dutch WWII action thriller, The Forgotten Battlewhich tells the story of a great battle that took place in the Netherlands.
September 1944, World War II. “The Allies have captured the port of Antwerp, but the Germans still control the Scheldt estuary, preventing supplies from reaching Antwerp and the Allied forces.
“The island of Walcheren is the key to the German defense. Operation Market Garden is launched, in the hope of penetrating directly into Germany from Arnhem in Holland.
“A glider employed in this operation was forced to crash-land on Walcheren, leaving a handful of British soldiers trapped behind enemy lines.
“Meanwhile, a Dutch teenager accidentally kills three Germans, triggering a tragic chain of events. Among the German staff is also a Dutch soldier who now begins to question where his loyalties lie.”
This is a story I didn’t know about and it looks like it will be an interesting film. The production value looks great too! The production team really set out to make a great historical war film.
The film was directed by Matthijs van Heijningen Jr.and its stars Gijs Blom, Jamie flattersAND Susan Rader.
Epic Pictures will release The Forgotten Battle direct-to-VOD in the United States starting August 6, 2024.
