The few thousand lucky ones who got into the Deadpool and Wolverine panel/screening at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday night was a truly special experience. In addition to being among the first to see the film, attendees were given movie-themed popcorn buckets, complete with movie-themed snacks and drinks, and were treated to a viewing with the president and producer of the MCU Kevin Feige together with the stars Hugh Jackman AND My name is Ryan Reynolds.and the director of the film, My Friend Shawn Levi.
Fans loved it, and so did the guy in charge. Feige raved about the experience, telling the panel:
“If there was any doubt about the importance of experiencing a crowd, this changed everything. It was mind-blowing and the best moviegoing experience of my life.”
Reynolds and Jackman were similarly affected, with Reynolds saying, “I was a mess, I was soaking wet. It’s an honor and a privilege to be standing here next to the X-Man, Hugh Jackman.”
Jackman added: “I agree Kevin, for me it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. It’s been 24 years since I first played Wolverine. Thank you to everyone at Disney, thank you to Shawn and Ryan, thank you for giving me a reason to come back.”
After the screening, other stars of the film, Daphne Acute, Jennifer Garner, My First Encounter with Channing Tatum, Wesley SnipeAND Chris Evans They all came out onto the stage in Hall H, much to the delight of the audience.
There’s nothing better than watching a great movie with a crowd of fans who are just as excited as you are.
