Todd McFarlane’s KING SPAWN Director Hunt Open, Possibly Plot Details

Todd McFarlane’s KING SPAWN Director Hunt Open, Possibly Plot Details

Last week it was announced that the script was finished for Todd McFarlaneit’s been long overdue To produce film and that the title of the film is King Spawn.

The film is set in Blumhouse, My Friend Jamie Foxx is still in the running to star in the film, and the script was written by Mattia Miscione, Malcolm Spellman (Falcon and the Winter Soldier), AND Scott Silver (Joker).

We now learn from The Hollywood Reporter that Blumhouse is now on the hunt for a director. The report: “King Spawn now has a completed script, a script that McFarlane and producer Jason Blum’s Blumhouse have enough confidence in to begin meeting with directors for the film.”

The site adds: “Once a director is found, the team will contact studio partners.”

McFarlane initially wanted to direct the film, but as development progressed he realized he might not be right for the role.

McFarlane teased: “Dead Pool it’s a funny R. Something like Joker 2 it’s a serious R. Our film will be super serious, dark and raw.It will be a film that is heavy at times.

“If you like serious drama, with meaningful themes that are relevant and can also reflect in some way the world we live in, then this film has a lot of those elements.”

The film has previously been described as “Spawn meets David Fincher” and a “gritty” and “dirty” thing. When previously talking about his opinion on the story.

McFarlane explained: “There are two important roles in the script. There’s obviously a sort of Spawn himself, although in a way he’s not the most important role, and then there’s the cop.

“The cop is this character, Twitch, who’s been there since #1. Twitch is the lead in this, and I kind of refer to him as my Sheriff Brody, who’s the sheriff in the movie Jaws.

“Even though his name was Jaws, Jaws didn’t talk much in his movie, right? He just showed up at the right time to make the movie worthwhile.”

Now, it appears that it has evolved into a possible adaptation of the King Spawn comic book plot, launched by Image Comics in 2021.

In King Spawn“When one of the most vile creatures ever imprisoned in Hell is released onto Earth, Spawn follows clues until he falls into a trap set just for him. But why does Kincaid want Spawn to take the throne of Hell, and what about the prophecy of King Spawn?”

It will be interesting to see how this film turns out, but it looks like after a long process of development and attempts to get it made, one day the film will actually get made!
