Marvel Studios has officially announced that Jupiter AND Anthony Russo will return to direct the next two Avengers films that are in development! These films include Avengers: Judgment Day AND Avengers: Secret WarsThey made the big announcement at Comic-Con and the crowd in Hall H went wild!
Yes, that first title means that the MCU will include Doctor Doom and it was also released that Robert Downey Jr. he would play the bad guy, which is crazy!
Joe Russo came on stage and said, “We missed you guys,” and Anthony Russo said he thought End of the game It was really their last film, saying, “That series of four films was incredible and left us with our emotions exhausted.”
He then added: “We came to see a path to follow together with all of you.”
There were rumors that the Russo Bros. were in talks and those rumors were true! Several directors were said to be in talks to direct these films in recent months, including My Friend Shawn Levi (Deadpool and Wolverine), Sam Raimi (Spiderman), Justin BensonAND Aronne Moorhead, our mentor (Knight of the Moon). Destiny Daniel Cretton was the original director of The Kang Dynasty.
It’s no secret that the Russos are big fans of the Secret Wars storyline. Joe Russo once said, “We always answer honestly when asked, ‘Would you work with them? [Marvel Studios]?’ ‘Of course we would, we love them.’
“‘What would you like to do?’ ‘Secret Warswas our favorite show when we were kids.’ And then I think it always gets spun off into a bigger story. But to be clear: There’s no story… We haven’t had any conversations with those guys about anything they’re doing because we’ve been so busy with our own schedules.”
When previously it was spoken of Secret WarsJoe Russo said: “You know, I read it when I was 10 or 11, and it was the scale of putting all the heroes together. It was one of the first major books to do that, and to me it was really event narrative at its finest.
“And what happens when you put all these personalities together. I also like the idea of villains having to team up with heroes. Anth and I like complicated relationships between heroes and villains, we like villains who think they’re heroes in their stories, so it’s all kind of integrated into this notion of Secret Wars.
“Doing something on the scale of Infinity War was directly related to the dream of Secret Warswhich is even larger in size.”
Now they’re really going to bring this epic Marvel story to life and I can’t wait to see it!
