directors Tommy Wirkola (Dead Snow, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters) AND Rasmus A. Sivertsen (Luigi and Luca), have developed an animated musical comedy with a sexual theme titled Spermageddon.
Apparently the film was the most talked about at the Annecy Film Festival, and was acquired by Originals Factory for France. This is the same distributor that distributed Everything, everywhere, all at once AND The whale.
The filmmakers have described the film as “raw and moving” and tells the story of a “couple of teenagers experiencing their first time and two sperm on a fateful journey to find the egg.” The film is said to feature “musical numbers and lots of talking sperm.”
The film was inspired by projects such as South Park AND Sausage Festivaland the spicy film features musical numbers and lots of talking sperm.
Originals Factory CEO Tristan Du Laz said in a statement: “Spermageddon marks our first step into feature-length animation. We are thrilled and terribly excited to be working on such an original, bold and irreverent cinematic proposition, one that is furiously in tune with the times.
“This film is one of our favorites and we can’t wait to share it with the young adult audience it’s intended for.”
President of Charades Yohann Comte added: “I couldn’t think of a better distributor for the film. Originals Factory has proven to be one of the few distributors that can be bold and innovative enough to bring young adult audiences into theaters with bold independent filmmaking while maximizing ancillary revenue.”
This will definitely be an interesting animated film!
