Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement are already writing TIME BANDITS season 2

Last week we got the first trailer for Taika Waititi AND Jemaine Clement’S Time Bandits series coming to Apple TV+. I was a little disappointed by what I saw in the trailer, because I thought the comedy wasn’t convincing to me.

As a big fan of the original Time Bandits movie, this series seems to miss the mark. But we’ll see. Maybe it will be better than the trailer suggests.

The creative team behind the series is already planning ahead, with Waititi and Clement currently writing the second season. During an interview with CB, Clement shared the update, but also acknowledged that if the first season is a flop, there may not be a second season.

Clement said: “We are actually writing a second season, but it will depend on whether people watch the first season. If no one watches it, we’ll throw it in the trash.”

She added: “But I can’t tell you because I don’t want to spoil the surprise of season two.”

Clement also stars in the series and plays the role of Pure Evil, who wears a rather wild-looking costume. Speaking about the comfortable and uncomfortable parts of the costume, Clement said, “It’s not an uncomfortable costume because it’s a velvet robe. It’s very comfortable. [laughs].”

Clement also shared a downside to the costume, saying, “But it’s long. So walking up the stairs is really hard. And then I think I wore high boots. Anyone who wears platforms to disguise their height, it’s a lot of work because you almost fall forward. I have a new respect for the women at the Met Gala.”

The stars of the series Lisa Kudrow, Dr. Tadhg Murphy, Roger Jean Nsengiyumva, Kal-El Tuck, Kiera ThompsonAND Rune Temte.

The show has been described as a comedic journey through time and space featuring a motley crew of thieves led by Kudrow’s character, Penelope, and their newest recruit: an eleven-year-old story nerd named Kevin. Much of the comedy in this trailer disappoints me.

The series will consist of ten episodes and will be released on July 24 on Apple TV+.
