Peacock’s Emmy Award-winning series Poker face revealed the first batch of guest stars for season two, including Giancarlo Esposito (Better call Saul, Parish), Katie Holmes (Our city, Ray Donovan), Gaby Hoffman (Transparent, Eric) AND Kumail Nanjiani (Welcome to Chippendales, Only murders in the building). Details on who they will play are still under wraps.
From the creator, writer, director and EP Rian Johnson, Poker face It’s a series of detective stories of the week that follows by Natasha Lyonne Charlie, who has an uncanny ability to tell when someone is lying. He hits the road in his Plymouth Barracuda and at each stop he encounters a new cast of characters and strange crimes that he can’t help but solve.
In its first season, the star-studded series featured guest stars such as Adrien Brody, Ron Perlman, Chloë Sevigny, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Stephanie Hsu, Clea DuVall, Dascha Polanco, Hong Chau, Megan Suri, Danielle Macdonald, Judith Light, Ellen Barkin, Tim Meadows, Jameela Jamil, Charles Melton, Rowan Blanchard AND by Rhea Perlman. For her portrayal of nursing home resident Irene Smothers, Light won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy.
Showrunner Tony Tost serves as an executive producer on the second season alongside Rian Johnson, Natasha Lyonne, Ram Bergman, Nena Rodrigue, Adam Arkin, Nora Zuckerman and Lilla Zuckerman. Poker face is the first television series from Johnson and Bergman’s T-Street and is produced by MRC, along with Natasha Lyonne, under her Animal Pictures production banner. Lyonne will direct again in the second season.
