Ben Affleck avoids his wife like the plague, but he doesn’t want a war with her. An insider tells In Touch Weekly exclusively that the artist hasn’t given up on the ring entirely because he’s “deadly afraid of being completely destroyed by her in an all-out divorce battle.”
“Ben never expected JLo to accept the decision to split. He knew it would be hard for her, but as time goes on, he’s more scared of how she’ll react once it’s official,” the source said. “His insistence that they put on rings and take steps to fix the fights, his anger at her taking his stuff out really got him on edge,” the insider added.
She said the singer “will not go quietly.” According to the source, Jennifer “has been acting increasingly more tense as this situation goes on and has made it clear that she still expects him to play the same game as her.”
“He wants her to wear the ring and act like a married man until this divorce is final,” she said. “Ben is spending as much time as possible with her because he doesn’t want to deal with another fight. He walks on eggshells and never knows when he’s going to burst,” she concluded.
Note that the stars have yet to publicly comment on the status of their relationship, but Ben Affleck has hinted that their marriage is falling apart after he didn’t wear his wedding ring several times. Jennifer Lopez claims everything is fine.
