Lamorne Morris to Play Robbie Robertson in Live-Action Series SPIDER-NOIR Opposite Nicolas Cage

Lamorne Morris (New girl, Fargo) has joined the cast of the live-action series Spider Noirin which he will play the character of Robbie Robertson, alongside Nicolas Cage and possibly Brendan Gleeson. The show has been reported under the names Black, Spider NoirAND Spider-Man Noirso we don’t know which one it will land on, but we will let you know when we are sure.

The show is headed to MGM+ and Prime Video and is based on the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir. Spider Noir, from the executive producers/co-showrunners Oren Uziel AND Steve Lightfoottells the story of an aging, down-on-his-luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York City who is forced to confront his past life as the city’s only superhero.

Morris’ Robbie Robertson is driven, hardworking, and won’t take no for an answer. A committed journalist trying to make it despite the odds against him as a black professional in 1930s New York, he takes on riskier stories that no one else will touch to capture attention and a paycheck. He’s willing to do whatever it takes for his career.

Harry Bradbeer is set to direct and executive produce the first two episodes of the series, which Uziel and Lightfoot developed with the team behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-VersePhil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal, who also serve as executive producers. Spider Noir will debut domestically on MGM+’s linear channel, then globally on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories.
