GLADIATOR II and WICKED to be released on the same day: will they be the new Barbenheimers?

Universal Pictures recently pushed up the release date of Evil and is now scheduled to be released on the same day as Ridley Scott’S Gladiator II November 22, 2024.

It looks like we might be getting a new Barbenheimer, as fans are already planning an unconventional double screening of the two films.

There are a lot of social media posts popping up now about Evil AND Gladiator II movie combo. Wicked director John M. Chu also joins in on the fun.

When Barbie AND Oppenheimer They were released on the same day that it became a cultural phenomenon, and both films achieved great critical and commercial success.

It seemed like a bolt from the blue, something that could never happen again, but it looks like some people are going to try to make “Wickediator” happen.

Evil It is the untold story of the witches of Oz, the protagonists Cynthia Erivo (Arrietaof Broadway The color purple) as Elphaba, a young woman, misunderstood because of her unusual green skin, who has yet to discover her true power, and Ariana Grande as Glinda, a popular young woman, enriched by privilege and ambition, who has yet to discover her true heart.

The two meet as students at Shiz University in the fantastical Land of Oz and form an unlikely but deep friendship. After an encounter with the Wonderful Wizard of Oz, their friendship reaches a crossroads and their lives take very different paths.

Glinda’s unshakable desire for popularity leads her to be seduced by power, while Elphaba’s determination to remain true to herself and those around her will have unexpected and shocking consequences for her future.

Their extraordinary adventures in Oz will ultimately lead them to realize their destinies as Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

Gladiator II It focuses on Lucius, son of Lucilla and nephew of Commodus, son of the Roman leader Marcus Aurelius who assassinated his father and seized the throne.

Commodus met his downfall in the gladiatorial arena against Maximus, who despite being mortally wounded, defeated the emperor before moving on to reunite with his family. Maximus had saved Lucius and his mother, leaving a lasting impact on the young boy.
