Tiktok’s US Spin -Off in the works in view of the deadline, but will it be enough?

Tiktok could prepare to reinvent himself in the United States again. According to an information report, the company is silently developing a new version of the app specifically for American users, potentially launching it from September 5, just before the last extension of the deadline for a sale or arrest sent by the government.

This deadline is September 17 and marks the third extension issued by President Trump, which delayed the application of the law originally approved under the Biden administration.

This law, signed by Biden and supported by the Supreme Court, requires Tiktok’s mother society, bytedance with headquarters in China, selling its US operations or dealing with a complete ban. Trump stopped the application the day after the entry into office and has since continued to extend the deadline.

So what awaits us? Well, Tiktok’s plan to launch a new specific app of the United States seems to be part of its strategy to stay alive in the American market while a sale is negotiated. According to reports, Bytedance aims to close the current version of Tiktok by March 2026.

Meanwhile, Trump recently told Fox News that a group of “very rich people” are in negotiations to buy Tiktok. “We will let you know who I am in a couple of weeks,” he said, adding that while the agreement will probably require approval by the Chinese government, he expects the president Xi Jinping to accompany him.

In a public declaration on the current delay, Tiktok said: “We are grateful for the leadership and support of President Trump in ensuring that Tiktok continues to be available for over 170 million American users and 7.5 million US companies that are based on the platform while we continue to work with the vice -president of Vancer”.

It is the last turning point of a long -date political rope on the video platform shortly popularly popular. The legislators of both sides claimed that Tiktok places risks for national security, with concerns about the potential sharing of data with the Chinese government.

Bytedance and Tiktok denied these accusations. However, the US of US legislators crushed the legislation last year by forcing the bytedance to sell or risk losing the entire American market.

Filling further the question is the widest US-China relationship. Trump’s commercial policy has expanded tensions, imposing rigid rates for Chinese imports. For now, both nations are in a shaky truce, with the negotiations in progress and some temporarily lowered rates, but this could change.

So, will Tiktok’s new US app is enough to satisfy regulators or is it just a temporary solution in a much wider geopolitical stall? One thing is certain … the clock is ticked.
