Stranger things star Maya Hawke recently teased the epic scope of the series’ fifth and final season, saying that the final batch of episodes will be like watching a movie.
Hawke, who plays Robin Buckley, was asked why it’s taking so long to finish production on this season and explained, “It takes a long time to write each season and a long time to shoot them. We’re basically making eight movies.”
I’m sure the fans will love it! I’ve enjoyed watching the story of this series unfold and I’m very excited to watch eight films that conclude the story.
Speaking about the final season, the co-creator Ross Duffer previously shared that this final chapter of the story will be an emotional arc for Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) and that will tie the entire series together. Ross Duffer explained:
“Will really comes back to center stage in [season] 5. This emotional arc for him is what we think ties the whole series together. Will is used to being the young one, the introverted one, the one who is protected. So part of his journey is not just sexuality, it’s Will coming into his own as a young man.”
When describing above Stranger things 5, the writing team said that the next chapter of the story is “as if Season 1 and 4 had a baby. And then that baby was injected with steroids.”
While we don’t know much about what the story will entail, we do know that the final episodes “catch up with season one.” Matt Duffer He previously said: “We’re starting to see him come of age, really, which has been challenging for a variety of reasons; some of which are supernatural. But you’re starting to see him become himself.”
Ross Duffer He added: “I think you’ll see him with a couple of character arcs, not just with Will. But also with Steve and Nancy, and his relationship with Jonathan, where things aren’t quite resolved. The characters have maybe taken steps forward, as Will has, but that journey isn’t over yet. All of that will play a huge role as we try to wrap this thing up next season.”
Noah Schnapp he also said: “I can only tell you that I’m very very excited for what’s to come. I think they’ve done a great job with the character of Will this season, and they’ve really addressed everything that they needed to. The way they’ve ended the show is just perfect: the story started with Will, and it’s going to end with Will.”
The series is set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana in the 1980s, and follows a group of friends as they investigate supernatural events and government conspiracies as the small Midwestern town descends into an apocalyptic nightmare. The series has been praised for its strong cast, twisting plots, and nostalgic references to 1980s pop culture, which Hamilton fits right in.
Stranger things 5 will be the last time Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Luca (Caleb McLaughlin), Maximum (Sadie Sink), and the rest of the Hawkins gang are all together for one last fight against the evil Vecna (My Friend Jamie Campbell Bower).
Stranger things The fifth season will arrive on Netflix in 2025.
