Silo star Rebecca Ferguson is teasing the upcoming second season of the Apple TV Plus series, and if you liked the first season, the next one will take things to the next level.
During an interview with The Wrap, he said: “Season two is dark. It’s a crazy, exciting season. It’s huge, man.”
She also revealed that she has signed a contract to appear in four seasons and that she knows the final ending of the series. However, the series has yet to be officially renewed for season 3.
Ferguson continued, “We’re looking at greenlighting seasons 3 and 4. And I think we could shoot them together, and that would be the end of it.”
She added: “I think the show has an end, and I know when that will be. To be honest, I don’t think it’s a secret.”
Ugo HoweyThe series’ author has already expressed his opinions on the second season, stating: “I saw the second season and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever seen.”
The series is based on Howey’s trilogy of dystopian novels and tells the story of “the last ten thousand people on Earth, their mile-deep home shielding them from the toxic and deadly outside world. However, no one knows when or why the silo was built, and anyone who tries to find out faces deadly consequences.”
After the sheriff breaks a cardinal rule and residents mysteriously die, Engineer Juliette “searches for answers about the murder of a loved one and stumbles upon a mystery that goes much deeper than she could have ever imagined, leading her to discover that if lies don’t kill you, the truth will. She begins to uncover shocking secrets and the truth about the silo.”
When previously talking about the second season, Matt ChernissApple TV+ programming chief said in a statement: “It’s been incredibly rewarding to see the gripping, atmospheric and beautifully crafted sci-fi epic Silo quickly became Apple’s number one drama series.”
He added: “As audiences around the world have been captivated by the mysteries and conspiracies buried within this fascinating underground world, ratings continue to grow and we look forward to uncovering more of the silo’s secrets in season two.”
The series was created and written by Dr. Graham Yost (Band of brothers, justified), and said: “We can’t wait for audiences around the world to immerse themselves in the epic world we’ve created to bring Hugh Howey’s novels to life.”
He continued: “Apple has believed in our vision since day one, and it’s an honor to have the opportunity to delve deeper into this story and reveal more about our characters in the Silo.”
Ferguson is joined in the series by a high-quality ensemble cast that includes Common, My Harriet, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, David Oyelowo, Rashida Jones AND My Friend Tim Robbins.
