Series VAN HELSING in the works at CBS by Jonathan Lee, Rob Doherty, Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman

A new Van Helsing A series featuring the classic character as a crime fighter is in development at CBS. Jonathan Leethe writer behind the upcoming Netflix and BBC drama series Lockerbieis writing the series, which is in development at the Paramount-owned network.

Elementary Creator Rob Doherty is an executive producer on the project alongside Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman, under their overall deal with Lionsgate Television, which is the studio.

The series is a modern reimagining of monster hunter Dr. Abraham Van Helsing, who uses his inquisitive mind to work alongside his ex, relentless FBI Special Agent Mina Harker, to solve New York City’s most harrowing cases, according to the synopsis.

Van Helsing is the latest procedural project in the works at CBS, which Deadline revealed earlier this week was developing another adaptation of the German crime drama series Einstein.

Lee is the author of books including The big mistake. Furthermore Lockerbiewith whom he is co-creating a limited series about a heist in Las Vegas Dog Booking Sterlin Harjo for FX and the adaptation of his book High dive for the big screen with Eric Roth.
