The American remake of David Fincher’s SQUID GAME is reportedly still in development

Last year it was reported that Netflix was looking to develop an American remake of the hit series Squid game and that they wanted director David Fincher to produce and develop it.

According to a recent report from The Playlist, Fincher is attached to the project and has been working on it for “the last two years or so.” They also believe that this project could be Fincher’s next directorial assignment.

There are no other details shared, but with Fincher developing the project, we know it will be a well-made, high-quality series.

Apparently Fincher was so excited to work on this Squid Game project that he changed some plans and put his Chinatown prequel series on Netflix on hold to work on Squid Game.

Fincher is said to be working on the series by British writer Dennis Kelly, who wrote Utopia. We don’t know how much longer until the Squid Game reboot, but it should be interesting to see how it turns out.

I think this series would work really well if it were set in the same universe as the Korean version of the show, but it’s set in America. Maybe this will be an American chapter of Squid Game, and this will tell a completely different story in the United States. To me it would make more sense than a total remake.

What do you think about Fincher developing a Squid Game remake for Netflix?
