Many fans are excited about the news Jurassic world film currently in development at Universal Pictures. One of the most interesting aspects of the film is the fact that it is original Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp returned to write the screenplay.
The film will be directed by Gareth Edwards and Scarlett Johansson will be the protagonist. The film is said to be “an all-new version that launches a new Jurassic era” and the story will follow “three adults and three teenagers who get stranded on the island.”
Johansson recently spoke about her enthusiasm for the project and said that the script written by Koepp is incredible. During an interview with CB, the actress was asked what made her want to return to franchise films in the new Jurassic project.
Johansson said: “Everything. I’m a huge fan of Jurassic Park. It’s one of the first films I remember seeing in the cinema. I remember seeing it so vividly. It was like changing my life. It was mind-blowing. I can’t express how excited I am.”
He then talked about the film’s script saying, “The script is so incredible. David Koepp wrote it. He came back after about 30 years to write the script. He’s so passionate about it, which is amazing.”
The actress then added that she has been pushing to work on this franchise since it returned to theaters in the 2010s.
He explained: “I’m a huge fan of the franchise and a huge nerd for it. I’m just like, I can’t even, I’m pinching myself.
“I’ve been trying to get into this franchise any way I can for over 10 years. I say, ‘I’m going to die in the first five minutes! I can get eaten by anything! I’ll do craft service!’ I will do anything for this.
“The fact that it happened this way at this time is truly incredible. I can not believe it.”
The film is produced by Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall AND Patrick Crowleyand the rest of the cast includes Jonathan Bailey, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Mahershala Ali, Friend Rupert, Luna Blaise AND Davide Iacono.
Amblin Entertainment and Universal Pictures will release the film on July 2, 2025.
