Rosso Ghost by John Malkovich, cut by the fantastic four: First Steps – “It was heartbreaking not to include it”

Imminent of marvel studios The Fantastic Four: First Steps He almost had an apparition from one of the oldest bad ones of the team comics, and he would not have been played anything but nothing but anything but John Malkovich.

Director Matt Shakman Confirmed in a recent interview with Variety that Malkovich’s scenes such as Ivan Kragoff, aka The Red Ghost, did not make the final cut.

Malkovich filmed the scenes at the beginning of the film as part of a sequence that explores the first days of the team, which included a battle with the Ghost Red and its super-appeal. Fans have even glimpsed in the teaser trailer. “He was brilliant in it and gave his best,” Shakman said.

So what happened? According to Shakman, the decision came to the balance of history. “There were many things that eventually ended up hitting the cutting room floor,” explained Shakman.

“When we were building a retro-future world of the 1960s, introducing all these bad guys, introducing these four main characters as a group, as well as individually, introducing the idea of a child: there were many things to balance in this film and some things had to go ultimately in terms of modeling the film for its final version.”

Cut Malkovich was particularly painful for the director since the two worked together for Shakman’s debut, Cut bank (2014) And the director still attributes the actor for having contributed to making that indie film.

“It was heartbreaking not to include it in the final version of the film because it is one of my favorite humans and one of my greatest inspirations,” he said.

“As a person who walks between theater, films and television, there is no one who is more stimulating than the founder of the Stepenwolf Theater Company. What he did on stage as an actor and what he did as director in theater and films and, as only a film actor of incredible ability – I was honored to have come to act.”

Malkovich has refused Marvel films for years and previously explained why Syaing: “The reason I did not do them had nothing to do with any artistic consideration. I didn’t like the offers they did at all.

“These films are quite exhausting to make … If you intend to remain from a crane in front of a green screen for six months, pay me. You don’t want to pay me, it’s nice, but then I don’t want to do it, because I would prefer to be on stage or direct a game or do something else.”

The only reason he signed for Fantastic Four was for Shakman, and now that they finally took him, they are cutting it. There is no way to return for another.
