Another fantastic trailer has been released for the animated film THE WILD ROBOT

Universal Pictures has released a new trailer for the wonderful animated film from DreamWorks Animation The wild robot. I’ve loved everything I’ve seen of this film so far and this latest trailer gives a real insight into the story it tells.

20 minutes of the film were recently screened at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival and were greeted with a standing ovation from those in attendance.

The epic sci-fi adventure story “follows the journey of a robot – ROZZUM unit 7134, ‘Roz’ for short – who is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh surrounding conditions, gradually building relationships with animals on site. island and become the foster parent of an orphaned duck.

The film tells a powerful story about “self-discovery, an emotional examination of the bridge between technology and nature, and a moving exploration of what it means to be alive and connected to all living things.”

The wild robot is written and directed by Chris Sanders (How to train your dragon, The CroodsAND Lilo and Stitch). He explained that he was inspired by stories like Bambi and talked about how he wanted to capture the look of illustrative backgrounds and character designs, which were lost with computerized imagery.

The wild robot stars Lupita Nyong’o (We, Black Panther) as the robot Roz; Pedro Pasquale (The Last of Us, the Mandalorian) as the fox Fink; Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek, the best of the show) as Pinktail possum; Bill Nighy (Living, truly loving) as long-necked goose; Kit Connor (Heartstopper, Rocketman) as the Duck Brightbill and Stephanie Hsu (Everything everywhere and everything at once, The Fall Guy) as Vontra, a robot who will intersect with Roz’s life on the island.

The film also features the voice actors of Marco Hamill (Star Wars franchising), Matt Berry (What we do in the shadows) AND Ving Rames (Mission: Impossible, Pulp Fiction).

Universal will debut Sanders The wild robot in theaters September 20, 2024.
