Ryan Johnson has started casting for his Netflix film project, Wake Up Dead Man: A Mystery at Knives OutAND Josh O’Connor (Challengers), Cailee Spaeny (Alien: Romulus), AND Andrea Scott (Bag of fleas), will join Daniel Craig in the movie.
Johnson will direct from a script he wrote, but we have no idea what the story will entail or who the actors will play. This is just the beginning of what is sure to be an all-star cast.
All we know is that Craig will return to play Detective Benoit Blanc. The last update we had on the film came from Johnson, who said: “It’s coming. Obviously I couldn’t work during the strike, and now that it’s over I’m diving in full force, and so it’s coming.
He added: “I have the premise, I have the setting, I have what the movie is in my head. It’s just a matter of writing the damn thing.
Johnson also said, “I love everything about crime fiction, but one of the things I love most is how malleable the genre is. There’s a whole tonal spectrum from Carr to Christie, and being able to explore that range is one of the most exciting things about making films with Benoit Blanc.”
The film will go into production next month and be released in 2025.
