Jason Statham has landed another leading role in a new untitled action thriller from the director Baltasar Kormákur (Everest, two guns).
In the film, Statham plays a character called Mason “who lives in seclusion on a remote Scottish island. When he rescues a young girl from the ocean during a terrible storm, he sets in motion a chain of events that lead to a violent attack on his hideout, forcing him to return to the world to face the ghosts of his past.
Judging from this initial information, there is nothing different or unique about the story as it is something we have seen hundreds of times before. But Statham tends to make funny movies, so let’s see how this turns out!
The film is set at Black Bear, and producer John Friedberg said in a statement: “The combination of Jason’s unrivaled skill at explosive action and his track record in the genre, with Balt’s elevated, kinetic cinematic style that maintains always the character and the story at the center of attention.” the foreground is undeniable.
He added: “We are thrilled to bring this new action franchise to life with talented partners like Balt and Jason and can’t wait to introduce the world to Michael Mason.”
Production on the film will begin in November in the UK and Iceland, with production services and filming taking place at the RVK Studios Kormákur facility in Reykjavik. The script comes from Ward Parry.
