Netflix has renewed its popular science fiction series 3 Body problem for a second season and series creators, executive producers and writers David Benioff, DB WeissAND Alexander Woothey’re getting back to work on it.
The first season of the show was better than I expected. I liked the story, which focused on humanity’s first contact with an alien civilization.
In the series: “A young woman’s fateful decision in 1960s China reverberates across space and time to a group of brilliant modern-day scientists. As the laws of nature unfold before their eyes, five former colleagues reunite to face the greatest threat in the history of mankind.”
Benioff, Weiss and Woo said in a joint statement: “We are thrilled to be able to tell this story to its epic conclusion. Ever since we read the last page of Cixin Liu’s magnificent trilogy, we have hoped to be able to take the audience with us to the ends of the universe. Here we are!”
Weiss previously spoke about the challenges of making a second season, saying, “It eases you into the story world, but the story gets really wild in the best way possible.
He added: “With something this wild, there are a lot of choices to make and a lot of things to figure out. We’ve been working together to understand them recently, especially in the last couple of months.
Hopefully the creative team continues to develop a great show as the story progresses.
The series is the protagonist John Bradley, Jess Hong, Benedict Wong, Eiza Gonzalez, Jovan Adepo, Alex Sharp, Saamer Usmani, Liam Cunningham, Rosalind Chao, Jonathan Price, Marlo Kelly, Shimooka Sea, Ben Schnetzer AND Zine Tseng.
