Paul Walter Hauser is joining the cast of Paramount’s THE NAKED GUN reboot film

Emmy and Golden Globe winning actor Paolo Walter Hauser (Cobra Kai, Richard Jewell, Black Bird) has joined the cast of Paramount’s new comedy, The naked gun. It joins Liam Neeson AND Pamela Anderson, as already announced. He will take on the role of Captain Ed, previously inhabited Naked gun film by George Kennedyand in the previous series Police squad! Of Alan North.

Akiva Schaffer directs and produces the comedy, which is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 18, 2025. Dan Gregor and Doug Mand co-wrote the draft screenplay with Schaffer, with whom they collaborated on the Emmy-winning film. Chip and Dale: Save the Rangers. Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins will produce via Fuzzy Door, with Daniel M. Stillman also serving as EP.

Known for their absurd scenarios and slapstick humor, throwbacks Naked gun films focusing on the misadventures of Frank Drebin, the inept and bumbling police detective played by Leslie Nielsen, who also starred in Jim Abrahams, David Zucker and Jerry Zucker Police squad!.

After Emmy, Critics Choice and Golden Globe wins for his disturbing role as serial killer Larry Hall in Apple’s crime drama Black BirdHauser was also recently seen in the second season of Apple’s hit comedy After dinner by Lord & Miller. On June 14th we will hear him voice the character of Embarrassment in the long-awaited Inside out 2. Other upcoming projects include Tony Tost’s directorial debut American starring Sydney Sweeney, recently acquired by Lionsgate, and Doug Liman’s Apple Original The instigators, which sees him star alongside Matt Damon. Hauser also recently signed on to play Chris Farley in a biopic to be directed by Josh Gad.
