The Hollywood producer criticizes Sydney Sweeney for not being pretty and acting badly, but she is defended

Sydney Sweeney he’s a rising star in Hollywood right now. She has recently appeared in several film projects and has many more planned.

With success comes people who try to drag them down. This happens everywhere, even outside of Hollywood.

Last week he was a veteran Hollywood producer Carol Baum he said at one event that Sweeney is “not nice” and “can’t act.” He also commented on his hit romantic comedy Anyone but yousaying it was “unwatchable”.

Baum, who produced films such as Inseparable, father of the bride AND Buffy the Vampire Slayer, made the comments about Sweeney during a discussion in Pleasantville, N.Y., with New York Times film critic Janet Maslin.

According to the Daily Mail, Baum said: “There’s one actress everyone loves now: Sydney Sweeney. I don’t understand Sydney Sweeney. I was watching the Sydney Sweeney movie on the plane [Anyone but You] because I wanted to watch it.

“I wanted to know who she is and why everyone is talking about her. I watched this unwatchable movie: I feel sorry for the people who love this…romantic comedy where they hate each other.

Baum, who is an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California, continued: “I said to my class, ‘Explain this girl to me. She’s not pretty, she can’t act. Why is she so sexy?’ Nobody had an answer.”

He added: “But then the question was asked, ‘Well, if you could make your own movie because she was in it, would you?’ … This is a very difficult question to answer because we all want the film to be made and who walks away from the green light is your job to make the film.

A representative for Sweeney has since responded to Baum, saying in a statement to Variety: “How sad that a woman in a position to share her expertise and experience would instead choose to attack another woman.

“If this is what he has learned over decades of working in the industry and he sees fit to teach it to his students, it is disgraceful. To unfairly disparage a fellow producer says a lot about Ms. Baum’s character.

The actress’ acting teacher, Scott Sedita, also came to her defense, saying, “She’s been through the ups and downs of this business.

“So you have to be a serious actress if you want to deal with all this. When she receives feedback or criticism, she processes it, uses her acting technique, and makes adjustments.

She continued, “Sydney is beautiful because she has inner depth, intellect, compassion, style and facial features – eyes, smile, cheekbones – that the camera angles pick up.

“The camera loves his ‘look’ as does the audience. Audiences love her because she’s relatable and accessible.”

While many people feel the same way about Sweeney and Baum, she’s kind of the star of the moment, and it’s safe to say we’ll be seeing more and more of her.
