Ryan Reynolds shares a touching tribute to actor and friend Michael J. Fox

Ryan Reynolds he is known for his comedic acting style, which he has exhibited in almost all of his films, most notably in the Deadpool franchise, among many others.

His comedy also appears in his personal life, as his interviews and social media posts are often quite funny. But this week the actor shared a touching and heartfelt tribute to one of the world’s favorite actors, a fellow Canadian of Reynolds, Michael J. Fox.

Time Magazine released its list of the 100 most influential people of the year and turned to Reynolds to share a little about the beloved celebrity.

He wrote: “I wrote this little blurb about Michael J Fox (@realmikefox) for the annual #Time100. This man means a lot to me. And I know it means a lot to you… I know Michael J. Fox. I mean, I know him damn well.

“He’s funny. He’s hot. He’s handsome and intensely intelligent. He falls a lot, too. Not just because he has Parkinson’s. He falls a lot because he’s not afraid of flying. I met Mike 17 years ago. I’ve seen him raise the bar purpose and passion.

“It would be a little lazy to simply characterize him as the biggest supporter of Parkinson’s research on the planet. He is someone who helped my father, along with millions of other people, feel less alone. It would be a little lazy to write him off as simply a movie star who shaped the lives of people across the planet with a unique, electric spirit and self-aware charm.

“He is the sum of these beautiful parts. And many more. Last year I watched Back to the Future with my 8 year old daughter. It became her favorite film of hers. And for now, that’s enough for me… and for her. Another child from another generation sees what I saw.

“I know how lucky I am to call Mike a friend. He still has no idea that I know him. I don’t need to teach my daughter the level of compassion that Mike has mastered. Or teach her to tell stories the way Mike tells stories.

“I have to teach her that it’s okay to fall a lot. It’s the absolute best way to know you’re flying.

Man, what a great tribute. I love Michael J. Fox and really appreciate these wonderful words about him from Ryan Reynolds. Check out the original post below:
