Today is the 86th anniversary of Superman’s first appearance in the world Action comics #1, published April 18, 1938.
To mark the occasion, Director James Gunn shared a photo from the set of Superman with Gunn, David Corenswet (Clark Kent/Superman) e Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane) paying homage.
The photo shows the talented trio reading a Superman comic. Gunn is reading a reproduction Action comics #1. While Brosnahan reads Superman All Star #1, and Corenswet is reading an issue of Golden Age of Action comics.
Gunn said: “On this day in 1938 the first superhero entered our atmosphere through the imaginations of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
“He gave us someone to believe in, not because of his great physical strength, but because of his character and his determination to do the right thing, no matter what. Happy #Superman Day to all of you! #Up up and away”

Superman will tell the story of “Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.”
Superman even stars Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern; Isabela Mercede as Hawkgirl; Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt/Mr. Terrific; Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen; María Gabriela de Faría in the role of Angela Spica, aka The Engineer; Sara Sampaio, in the role of Eva Teschmacher; AND Terence Rosemore as Otis.
Superman The theatrical release is scheduled for July 11, 2025.
