New trailer for Glen Powell and Richard Linklater’s dark comedy HIT MAN

Netflix has released a new director’s trailer Richard Linklater’S (Boyhood, dazed and confused, School of Rock) upcoming film Hitman.

The film is a true crime killer comedy starring Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick, Twisters) as Gary Johnson, a fake hitman.

Johnson is “a part-time teacher who works as a mysterious gunman for hire. But there’s a problem with hiring him to free a cheating spouse or abusive boss: He works for the police.

“When he breaks protocol to help a desperate woman (Adria Arjona ) trying to escape from an abusive husband, he finds himself becoming one of his false personas, falling in love with the woman and flirting with becoming a criminal himself.

The trailer highlights Powell’s character acting as a variety of hitman disguises. This looks like it’s going to be a really fun movie!

Linklater adapted the screenplay with Powell from to Texas Monthly article by Skip Hollandsworth. Linklater and Powell previously worked together on the 2016 film Everyone wants some and Netflix’s animated sci-fi drama Apollo 10 1/2.

The film has been described as “a real-life philosophical romantic noir comedy about the world’s most unlikely undercover agent.”

The review states that Powell has “an unusual leading man vibe” and “seems Guy Pearce dotted with Ryan Goslingwith a slightly silly smile that radiates the purest sincerity.”

Hitman even stars Austin Amelio, Straight line AND Molly Bernard. It will be released on Netflix on June 7.
