This is a film that will be best enjoyed on the big screen as it is full of over-the-top action and crazy stunts!
The film’s story focuses on a battered, retired stuntman (Ryan Gosling), who is pulled back into the stunt world to work on a film in which his ex-girlfriend (Emily Blunt) is directing. Aaron Taylor-Johnson he’s also in the movie as the protagonist of that movie, and he’s missing. So, Blunt needs Gosling’s help to save the production.
The synopsis reads: “He’s a stuntman, and like everyone in the stunt community, he gets blown up, shot at, crashed, thrown through windows, and dropped from the highest heights, all for our fun. And now, fresh from an accident that nearly ended his career, this working-class hero must track down a missing movie star, solve a conspiracy, and try to win back the love of his life while still doing his job daily. What could be good?”
The film is described as a “hilarious, gripping new pinnacle action thriller and a love letter to action movies and the hard-working, underrated crew of people who make them: The Fall Guy.”
Gosling plays Colt Seavers, “a battle-scarred stuntman who, after leaving the business a year earlier to focus on his physical and mental health, is called back into service when he stars in a big-budget studio film, directed by his ex, Jody Moreno, played by Blunt, disappears.
While the ruthless producer of the film Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), “maneuvers to keep the disappearance of star Tom Ryder (Taylor-Johnson) a secret from the studio and the media, Colt pulls off the film’s most outrageous stunts while trying (with limited success) to get back into Jody’s good graces. But as the mystery surrounding the missing star deepens, Colt will find himself trapped in a sinister criminal plot that will push him to the brink of a fall more dangerous than any stunt.
The boy of autumn will be released in theaters on March 1, 2024.
