A couple of months ago it was announced that Paramount Pictures was moving forward with a third film Top Gun movie. Joseph Kosinski is returning to direct with Star Tom Cruise and producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
Bruckheimer recently offered an update on Top Gun 3 and it turns out that Kosinski made up a story that Cruise really liked. During an interview with Screen Rant, the producer offered the following update:
“It’s going to be Tom Cruise. Tom is amazing. We spent time with him. We have a story. Joe Kosinski had a wonderful idea for this story, and he [Tom Cruise] I said I really like it, so we’re developing it.”
As for getting the movie made, it’s going to take a while because Cruise is just a crazy busy actor who has all kinds of movie projects lined up. The producer added:
“But you never know when it will be made because Tom is very busy. He’s doing Mission: Impossible right now, he has an after photo. Hopefully, we’ll get a script they like, and we’ll be airborne again.”
No plot details have been revealed but I hope the film reaches this level Top Gun: nonconformist set to!
