HBO has released two new trailers for the second season of its fantasy epic House of the Dragon. One trailer focuses on the Black Council and the other trailer focuses on the Green Council. These are duel trailers and each one begins with “All Must Choose”. A new Stark character is also introduced in the new footage.
Cregan Stark is played by Tom Taylor, and is depicted walking along the top of the Wall with Jacaerys Velaryon (Harry Collet).
Speaking to EW, showrunner and co-creator of House of the Dragon Ryan Condal spoke about the introduction of Cregan Stark, saying: “He’s very powerful. Everyone competes for his army. He’s a little bit younger than Ned Stark, so it’s interesting to see the Young Wolf, the young Stark lord, and how he he carries in the world, and the weight that rests on his shoulders being the Guardian of the North. I’m excited for audiences to see and experience that.”
The series is based on George R. R. MartinThe Fire & Blood series, set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of House Targaryen.
Speaking previously about what fans can expect from season two, director Clare Kilner said: “There are eight wonderful episodes where so much happens in each episode. We have trouble, sometimes, getting them down to an hour. ( Showrunner) Ryan Condal’s The decision was to give it a good opening and a good ending, and they’re chock-full of emotional and visually exciting events.”
Kilner added, “I’m excited to pick up where we left off. Now we can fall into the more traditional rhythms of storytelling and storytelling.” game of Thrones. We’ve always talked about this particular story, George [R.R. Martin] it also has to be a Shakespearean or Greek tragedy. This series is mostly about a house falling apart from the inside. Now that all these pieces have been put on the board, I’m really excited to tell the next chapter, to see what happens now that Viserys is gone and can’t keep a lid on things anymore.”
Season 2 of House of the Dragon will debut on HBO and Max on June 16.
