Warner Bros. has announced the release date of Matt Reeves’ Batman: Part II it was postponed a full year. The film has been moved from October 3, 2025 to October 2, 2026.
The delay is most likely due to the long strikes of writers and actors last year. We have a long wait ahead of us before we see Robert Pattinson take on the role of Gotham City’s protector again.
While we wait, though, we have Colin FarrellThe Penguin series will arrive later this year and its events will lead to the sequel to The Batman. It’s been reported that Batman will appear in that series, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
It has also been reported that the sequel’s story will be at least partially based on that of Geoff Johns. Batman: Earth One. The first film of which he took some inspiration from vol. 1, so I guess that means the sequel would be more influenced by volumes 2 and 3.
Batman: Earth One is set in an alternate universe where Bruce Wayne is struggling to find his purpose as the protector of Gotham City. With the help of Alfred Pennyworth, a former SAS agent, Bruce embarks on his journey to face both familiar and new villains along the way. The story explores Batman’s psychology as he seeks justice in Gotham. Hush is also said to be one of the big bads of the film.
