IFC Films has revealed a disturbing new trailer for the horror film Late night with the devil, which tells the crazy story of a demon summoned on live TV in 1977. Things go horribly wrong when the demon hijacks the television broadcast, and things get downright crazy as evil is unleashed in the nation’s living rooms. Sounds like a great horror movie!
The film follows a late-night talk show host named Jack Delroy, who invites a parapsychologist (Laura Gordon) on the show during a live broadcast so he could invite the subject of his most recent book, the sole survivor of the mass suicide of a satanic church. As you might expect, things go horribly wrong and Delroy gets more than he bargained for.
The film was written, directed and edited by Cameron AND Colin Cairnes and becomes the protagonist David Dastmalchian (The suicide squad, Oppenheimer), who plays charismatic Late-Night talk show host Jack Delroy.
Dastmalchian said in a statement: “Playing Jack Delroy on Late Night with the Devil was a once-in-a-lifetime role that haunted me and forever changed the way I look at my work. IFC Films and Shudder are the perfect partners to bring this film to audiences. I am so grateful to the Cairnes brothers for their artistry and to all the festival fans who created an incredible roar on Late Night with the Devil!”
The directors said: “In the ’70s and ’80s, there was something slightly dangerous about late-night TV. Talk shows in particular were a window into a strange adult world. We thought we’d combine that charged atmosphere, live with the supernatural could create a unique and frightening cinematic experience.”
Stephen King saw the film and shared means of social communication: “LATE NIGHT WITH THE DEVIL: I got a screener. It’s absolutely brilliant. I couldn’t look away. Results may vary, as they say, but I urge you to watch it when you can.
Late night with the devil will be released on April 19, 2024.
