Actor Scott Speedmann (Happiness, Grey’s Anatomy, You) is joining Yvonne Strahovski (Spindle) in the horror thriller series Peacock, Tea cup. Inspired by Robert McCammon’s novel “Stinger,” the series is said to follow “a disparate group of people in rural Georgia who must band together in the face of a mysterious threat to survive.” Speedman will play James Chenoweth, while Strahovski will play Maggie Chenoweth.
Ian McCulloch is the writer and executive producer of “Teacup.” EL Katz will direct the first episode and serve as executive producer. James Wan, Michael Clear and Rob Hackett all serve as executive producers for Atomic Monster. Francisca X. Hu, Kevin Tancharoen and McCammon also all serve as executive producers. Strahovski will produce in addition to acting. UCP is the studio.
“Teacup” is one of two recent series orders for Atomic Monster at Peacock. It was recently announced that the streamer had ordered an untitled sci-fi spy thriller series from the company starring Simu Liu as the protagonist. Thomas Brandon is the writer and co-showrunner of that series, with Jennifer Yale also joining as co-showrunner.
