Thomas Haden Church Talks SPIDER-MAN 4 Plans, Says He’d Play Sandman Again Tomorrow If Marvel Asked

There was a lot of excitement about the possibility of Sam Raimi AND Tobey Maguire getting back together for a fourth Spider-Man movie after that Spider-Man: No Way Home It was released. I’ll tell you what, if they actually did it Spider-Man 4 instead of Mrs. Web, Sony would have made a lot of money. It would be great to see Maguire’s version of Spider-Man explored more after being reintroduced into the MCU.

Thomas Haden Church recently talked about Spider-Man 4 and revealed that if he were asked to play Sandman again, he wouldn’t hesitate to come on board! Church said in an interview with CB:

“But Sandman, there have been some rumors that they might ask me to do another Spider-Man, and I would do it tomorrow. You know, they’ve never asked me to appear in another movie, another Marvel movie.”

While Sandman appeared in No way home, the studio never asked Haden Church to return. They simply used old existing footage Spider-Man 2. It was then suggested to him that Secret Wars was a possible project to return to, but he says if it happens, it will be for him. Spider-Man 4:

“But you know, I think Sam will do another Spider-Man with Tobey [Maguire], and that’s what… They had an option for me to do Spiderman 4 when there was a Spiderman 4. They had an option for me to come back. So if that happened, that would be great. I’m getting a little older.”

Haden Church previously said something similar last year, saying: “There’s always been some sort of… I’ve heard rumors… that Sam Raimi was going to do another [Spider-Man movie] with Tobey [Maguire] and if that happened, I would probably campaign to at least do a cameo.”

The actor obviously really wants to play Sandman again, and it would be great if he did. I think fans would love to see this version of the character revisited in a Spider-Man movie. I have no idea if that will ever happen, though.
