Whoever says fashion week also means celebrities, not only in the front row, but also increasingly on the catwalks to show off. On March 1, 2024, the Vetements autumn-winter 2024-2025 fashion show took place, whose artistic director, Guram Gvasalia, seems to be in open conflict with his brother, Demna, CEO of Balenciaga. Enough to fuel many fashion dramas through intervening collections.
Guram Gvasalia continues his argument with his brother Demna during the Vetements autumn-winter 2024-2025 fashion show
Flashback. Balenciaga’s Spring-Summer 2024 show, so autobiographical on Demna’s part, was opened by her mother, Ella. Guram Gvasalia (who has criticized his brother for several years for copying his style) he then posted a post on Instagram expressing his pride in seeing her participate in such a prestigious event, and his disappointment at not having been invited. Obviously, a few months later, she wanted to respond through her Vetements autumn-winter 2024-2025 show, presented on March 1, 2024 in Paris, as part of fashion week. In what might seem like a meta reflection on being less (re)known than your (ex) partner creative (since Demna and Guram have already officiated together at the helm of Vetements, before the former left the latter to take the helm of Balenciaga), different personalities followed one another on the podium.

Natalia Vodianova (great Russian model of the 2000s, who has put her career on hold since forming a couple with Antoine Arnault since 2011) opened this show. Alexander Edwards (singer Cher’s young boyfriend) also took his first steps as a model there. Anwar Hadid (Gigi and Bella’s brother) walked the runway wearing a t-shirt saying ” Not mom’s favorite » (“ not mom’s favorite child “). Or, Georgina Rodriguez wore a dress that repeats the football shirt of her husband, Cristiano Ronaldo. More surprising is the actress Marcia Cross (player of the character of Bree Van De Kamp in the series Desperate Housewives) which closed this Vetements autumn-winter 2024-2025 show by Guram Gvasalia. From there to seeing a lookalike of another red-haired actress dear to Balenciaga, namely Isabelle Huppert, is just one step, very meta. In short, the Romulus and Remus of fashion have not finished warring with fashion shows.
