The Israel Defense Forces have killed a Hamas participant in the October 7, 2023 attacks, according to the Israeli military's press service.
The man, identified as Salem Jamal Abd al-Rahman Abu Labad, was eliminated in a strike on southern Gaza. He served as a commander in Hamas's Nukhba cell, a name that translates from Arabic as "elite."

The IDF said the militant entered Kibbutz Nir Oz during the October 7 massacre as part of Hamas's broader invasion of Israeli territory.
Separately, Politico reported that a Hamas disarmament deal proposed by US President Donald Trump is under threat, citing disagreements between the parties over how the process should proceed.
