Insurance provider Mapfre has received the Shield of Trust award in the services category at The Best of DR 2026 event in Santo Domingo. Revista Mercado presented the honor to recognize organizations that have left a significant mark in the Dominican Republic through their corporate history, commercial relevance, and industry impact.



The distinction highlights key values in the insurance sector, specifically the capacity to build long term credibility and financial backing for clients. Organizers stated that the award underscores Mapfre's commitment to protecting individuals, families, and commercial enterprises across the country.

The award also acknowledges the insurer's continuous efforts to offer financial protection solutions and customer services that align with client requirements in the Caribbean nation.

The annual event highlights outstanding business figures, corporate initiatives, and public and private organizations. It aims to showcase entities that contribute to the economic, business, and social development of the Dominican Republic through innovative services and consistent operational performance.

Andrés Mejía, executive president of Mapfre in the Dominican Republic, said trust represents the primary asset for any insurance company. He noted that receiving the award reaffirms the company's commitment to evolve its service model continuously.
