Terence Winter will return to write the second season of Sylvester Stallone’s TULSA KING

Terenzio Winter is returning to write the second season of Sylvester StalloneIt’s the drama of the mafia King of Tulsa. Winter serves as showrunner for the first season, but will not serve as showrunner for the second season. Indeed, the creator Taylor Sheridan it won’t bring a replacement for Winter and the series won’t have a showrunner.

This is in line with the practice of other Sheridan series produced by 101 Studios which do not have a traditional showrunner. Instead, King of Tulsa has hired a director/executive producer whose deal is still being finalized. Winter left the showrunner position due to creative differences he had with Sheridan. Winter will also serve as an executive producer on the second season.

Stallone plays New York mob boss Dwight “The General” Manfredi in the series, and the story follows the mobster who is forced to move to the unlikeliest of places: Tulsa, Oklahoma, after spending 25 years in prison after being unceremoniously exiled from his boss. The series is set in the present day and the mobster is faced with the surprising task of re-establishing his Italian mafia family in the modernized and straight-laced city of Tulsa. There, Sal meets surprising and unsuspecting characters who follow him along his unconventional path to power.

Winter is also working on a few other projects, including Gnat AND A murder in Hollywood. He was also co-writer of the recently released film, Bob Marley: a love.
