Matthew Vaughn previously revealed his plan for the trilogy that will bring the long-awaited to life Kick ass restart. The director explained that the new Kick ass the film will be the third film in a new trilogy of films. The trilogy begins with an action film titled School fightwhich will be produced by Vaughn and directed by the stunt coordinator turned director Damien Walters. At that time, Vaughn called the second film Vramand said the movies are all connected.
Well, we’ve now learned from Variety that the second film in the series will officially have a title The stuntman. It was also revealed that the film will be directed by Damien Walters and that it will tell “the story of two brothers who both become stuntmen.”
It hasn’t been confirmed, but I think there’s a possibility that this is the previously teased film Vaughn stars in Chris Hemsworth AND Sam Rockwell. He said:
“I’m producing a very, very special film. I’m very excited. I just watched a half hour of editing. It’s going to have the same kind of impact as Kick-Ass. What I can say is that it’s a film that is written, directed and acted by my stunt team. It’s a movie like no other movie ever made and it also has Chris Hemsworth and Sam Rockwell, plus some other very, very cool cameos, and it’s reinventing an action movie.”
With the title of the film The stuntman, and all his talk about the stuntmen involved in the film, it has to be that way. Could Hemsworth and Rockwell be the two brothers who both become stuntmen? Or will they play other characters in the story? I guess we’ll have to wait and see!
When it comes to Kick ass reboot, Vaughn also said, “We’re halfway there. There is something very, very, dare I say… and it will be a cliché that comes out of this head of mine. It’s a very, very meta-universe. It’s what, you know, Kick-Ass was reinventing and creating an R-rated superhero and no one was really doing it. This is taking the whole concept to a worthy… not even a sequel because I think it’s just a whole new way of doing Kick-Ass, which couldn’t be more Kick-Ass.
I’m excited to see how this whole trilogy turns out!
