The fights in Jake Gyllenhaal’s ROAD HOUSE are “far beyond any fight ever filmed in the history of cinema”

Jake Gyllenhaal is hyping the fight scenes that will be featured in his upcoming reimagining of the ’80s cult classic Street house. The film was directed by Doug Liman who believes this could be the best film he’s ever made. When he talks about the fight scenes, Gyllenhaal says they were shot “in a way that’s never been done before.” During an interview with Total Film, the actor shared:

“[Director Doug Liman] He always does the action in a different way, and he came to me and said, ‘I want to do fighting in a way that’s never been done before. He became practically obsessed with how the punches and kicks would land. He didn’t want them to be portrayed the way we had in the past with that type of fighting.”

Stunt coordinator Garrett Warren he said he didn’t think they would attempt to shoot these types of action scenes during the entire production saying, “We’ll do this magic trick once or twice, maybe three times.” She added:

“But no, not with Doug. Doug wanted to do it the whole time. The footage was never cut. When you see this movie, the fights are far beyond any fight ever filmed in the history of cinema. This is something that is revolutionary.”

I have to say, I wasn’t really excited to watch this movie until I heard this. I’m very curious now to see how the fight scenes will play out in this film and what exactly makes them so innovative. Maybe they’ll show one in the next trailer.

The film is described as an “adrenaline-fueled reimagining of the ’80s cult classic” and the story follows former UFC fighter Dalton (Gyllenhaal), who “takes a job as a bouncer at a Florida Keys roadhouse, only to find that this Heaven is not all it seems. It looks like the movie will have some funny moments.

In addition to Gyllenhaal and Conor McGregorthe film also stars Billy Magnussen (There’s no time to die), Daniela Melchiorre (The suicide squad), Gbemisola Ikumelo (A league of their own), Luca Gage (Euphoria), Hannah Love Lanier (The small and mighty club), Travis Van Winkle (You), BK Cannon (Why women kill), Arturo Castro (Large city), Domenico Colombo (Ray Donovan), Beau Knapp (The lost symbol), Bob Menery (Full send podcast), Joaquim de Almeida (X fast), Darren Barnett (Agents of SHIELD), Kevin Carroll (from Showtime Let the right one in), AND JD Pardo (Maya MC).

Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke said: “Street house It’s a home run for us. Not only is it a tribute to fans of the original, but it’s also a great, fun, wide-audience film. We are thrilled to collaborate with Joel, Doug and this great cast led by Jake Gyllenhaal, and to see them come together to reimagine the classic MGM film as an action-packed adventure for our global audience.”

Street house the release is scheduled for March 21st.
