New STAR WARS book THE RISE AND FALL OF THE GALACTIC EMPIRE announced

A new Star Wars the book was announced titled Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire. The book will focus on how Emperor Palpatine ushered in a new era, the reign of the Empire. Palpatine explained in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith“In order to ensure our safety and continued stability, the Republic will be reorganized into the first Galactic Empire, for a safe and secure society that I assure you will last for ten thousand years.”

The book will explore how the Emperor strengthened his control over the Galaxy and then lost everything. The book comes from DK Publishing and is written by Chris Kempshallhistorian and co-author of “Star Wars: Battles that Changed the Galaxy.”

The book “promises to examine the complexities of imperial rule.” “It will explore the dark times through stories across mediums, including films, games, series, books and comics, with chapters covering every aspect of the Emperor’s regime.”

The book’s author shared in a statement: “So much of what we think about Star Wars is based on what we see of the Rebels. But this leaves a big empty space for the Empire. What was their experience ruling the galaxy and fighting war? What would people think of the Empire once it was gone?

He added: “I have always found Empire absolutely fascinating both as a fan and as a historian. Working on Star Wars: Battles That Changed the Galaxy helped me think long and hard about what universe historians might say about the Empire, but it only gave me a glimpse. I, just like Anakin, wanted more!

Kempshall concluded: “That’s what this book was for me and Beaumont Kin. The chance to fully and thoroughly explore the realities of the Empire and show you all what it looks like up close. This is my first solo Star Wars book, but it’s one I’ve wanted to write most of my life.

Rise and fall of the Galactic Empire arrives July 9th and check out the cover below.
