SPIDER-MAN 4 is reportedly going through a little drama with Marvel vs Sony wanting different directors

The web of intrigue around Spider-Man 4 thickens as Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are apparently at odds over the direction the highly anticipated sequel should take

According to a new report from Daniele RichtmannSony Tom Rothmann he’s reportedly itching to push Spider-Man 4 into production and on the big screen as soon as possible, because they desperately need another box office hit. Their favorite director is Jon Watts, the director behind the last three Spider-Man hits. Sony’s logic is pretty simple: if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

On the other side of things, we have Marvel Studios, led by Kevin Feige. Feige reportedly wants to shake things up by hiring a new director Spider-Man 4. It was said earlier that the director he wants is Drew Goddarda name that excites fans as he has directed before The cabin in the woods AND Bad times at El Royale. Feige is also said to want Watts to be involved in other MCU projects that are coming up.

It’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out, but the creative differences between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures highlight the complexities of collaborative filmmaking. If all this is true, I’m sure they will fix everything.

Richtman adds that Spiderman franchise manufacturer Amy Pascal hopes that Feige will be involved in a future live-action Miles Morales film, suggesting that the partnership between Marvel Studios and Sony will continue once Tom Holland says goodbye to Peter Parker.

It makes sense to keep Marvel involved, especially after how bad it was Mrs. Web it turned out to be. Sony shouldn’t make any more live-action Spider-Man projects on their own. They clearly haven’t learned anything about how to handle these characters.
