Lionsgate has released a trailer for the upcoming action thriller 5 pounds of pressurewhat stars Luke Evans AND Rory Culkin. It seems like it’s just another one of those generic action movies with a good cast, but I’ll give it a shot. I like Luke Evans and who knows, maybe it will be a surprisingly good film.
Evans plays the role of Adam in the film, an ex-con who returns to his old neighborhood after serving a 16-year sentence for murder, and is walking a difficult path of forgiveness towards the son who grew up without him, while his brother the embittered and irascible young man he killed looms in the background. Meanwhile, Mike (Culkin), fed up with doing his drug dealing uncle’s bidding (Alex Pettifer), he desperately wants to leave his sordid life behind. When Adam and Mike’s paths converge, inevitable fate gives way to violence… and one last, fleeting chance at redemption.
The film comes from the director Tawny Filoand the rest of the cast includes Zac Adams, Rudy Pankow, Stefania Leonida, Savannah SteynAND Lorraine Burroughs.
5 pounds of pressure will be released in select US theaters starting March 8, 2024.
