I don’t know if you’ve seen Madame Web yet, but it is easily one of the worst superhero movies ever made. It’s so bad and it’s shocking that Sony Pictures let this thing get made. Of all the films shelved these days for tax breaks, Mrs. Web that should have been it.
This makes the star of the film, Isabela Mercede, the comments about the superhero costume’s lack of screen time are even funnier. We recently reported that these costumes are only seen in the film for a couple of minutes, and, defending that decision in a recent interview with The Wrap, Merced said:
“When you get involved enough in the story, it’s like those things don’t really matter. You just wonder, what’s best for the story? And I think they did that for a reason, you know?”
“This is supposed to be an origin story. It wouldn’t be an origin story if we saw each other half the movie with our clothes on. I like that it’s a little titillating, and I like that it leaves people wanting to know more moreover.” .”
He says it like the story is really good, which makes me laugh. I wonder if he was aware of the movie she was making while she was making it. I mean, to be honest, the story was so bad that costumes having more screen time wouldn’t have helped. The only thing that would have helped this film was a completely new creative team that knew how to tell a proper story.
