Paramount+ has announced that the fifth and final season of Star Trek: Discovery will premiere on April 4, 2024. Season 5 will begin with the first two episodes of the 10-episode season. They also released a poster for the series. New episodes will be released weekly after the premiere.
The final chapter will find “Captain Burnham and the crew of the The USS Discovery uncovers a mystery that will take them on an epic adventure across the galaxy in search of an ancient power whose very existence has been deliberately hidden for centuries. But there are others in the hunt too… dangerous enemies who are desperate to claim the prize for themselves and will stop at nothing to get it.”
Season 5 cast includes Sonequa Martin-Green (Captain Michael Burnham), Douglas Jones (Saru), Antonio Rapp (Paolo Stamet), Maria Saggio (Silvia Tilly), Wilson Cruz (Dr. Hugh Culber), Davide Ajala (Booker of the Cleveland “Book”), Blue of the Barrio (Adira) e Callum Keith Rennie (Rayner). The fifth season also features recurring guest stars Elijah Toufexis (The ak) e Eva Harlow (Moll).
The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment. Alex Kurtzmann, Michele Paradiso, Heather Kadin, Aaron Baiers, Olatunde Osunsanmi, Sonequa Martin-Green, Franco Siracusa, John Weber, Rod Roddenberry AND Trevor Roth serve as executive producers. Alex Kurtzman and Michelle Paradise are co-showrunners.
