“Popularity comes to people in different ways. Some people become famous instantly and without much effort, while others have to work hard for this. Romka belonged to the second type. Today Roma passed away. The disease, which he defeated in the first round and which seemed impossible even then, has returned again. Good memories to you, Rom,” Garik Kharlamov wrote on his Telegram channel.

“I knew Roma before he starred in Sarık’s film ‘Girls Are Different’ and we met on the set of the short film ‘Freelancer’. I will remember Roman as a cheerful, outspoken person. We already became friends on the project ‘Girls Are Different’, where we played a couple. It’s a very, very shame that you couldn’t overcome this disease and it returned. Kingdom of Heaven! – Lisa Moryak shared on the Telegram channel.

“Roma went. He was a man of incredible willpower. Very cheerful. Positive. Blessed memories of him! He showed incredible willpower when it was already clear that he felt bad. An ambulance was on duty in the area and doctors were doing something to him. He left to film and came back. I saw how bad he felt. And of course, I bow deeply to him for his dedication and willpower to his work. This is a real achievement,” Sergei Burunov said on social networks.

“Romka, you were a wonderful, highly developed person, your knowledge was magnificent! You were a great artist – free, witty, you felt the moment, you felt the rhythm. The most important thing for Romka was his family: his beloved wife and children. It seemed that everything he did was for them. You are in your children, you are forever in creativity. You will be missed, my friend,” Sofia Kashtanova shared on the social network.

“Roman, you will always remain in my memory as a very kind, very brave, very talented person! You had incredible courage. You are a real example for everyone, an example of a real man who sincerely and unconditionally loves his family. You were so smart, Roman, very. How unfair life is,” Alexander Petrov wrote on a banned social network.

“We saw each other rarely, but tightly. And always with loud laughter, accompanied by wonderful tracks coming from the loudspeaker, with Roma, of course, by his side. Romka is not “Mukhich” for me, Roma for me is a huge, deep, kind soul that we will all miss. Yes, you did not stay with us for long, but the road was bright. Thank you, friend,” Zoya Berber said on the Telegram channel.

Let us recall that in June this year, Roman Popov suffered a severe concussive attack, but refused to be hospitalized, wanting to continue the filming that was going on at that time. The actor’s first illnesses emerged in 2018, when an examination revealed astrocytoma, a malignant brain tumor. Doctors removed the tumor and prescribed Roman anticonvulsant treatment, which he stopped in 2021. But seven years later, the disease returned – in August 2025, Roman announced the relapse on social networks.
