Ben Mendelsohn would give eyes and teeth to play Doctor Doom in Marvel’s FANTASTIC FOUR

Ben Mendelsohn he has already spent a lot of time in the MCU playing Talos in Captain Marvel and Secret Invasion, but the actor would like to play another character for Marvel Studios: Fantastic Four bad Doctor Doom.

Doctor Doom will be introduced into the MCU and fans are excitedly wondering which actor will end up taking on the role. Just because Mendelsohn already had a role in the MCU, which is now dead, the actor hopes the door is still open for him to play Doom. During an interview with GQ, the actor stated:

“I would almost give my eyes and my teeth to play Doctor Doom. I think Doctor Doom is the great unread Marvel character that could and should be made. But it is what it is.

“I got to work with Spielberg, with Terrence Malick, and with Ridley Scott. It was incredible. I didn’t think this ship would come.”

Mendelsohn would be great as Doctor Doom! It was already said previously Cilian Murphy AND Mads Mikkelsen were considered for the role. If Mikkelsen can be considered for the role, so can Mendelsohn, as Mikkelsen played the villain in Doctor Strange. Other rumors support this Ryan Gosling, Josh Hartnett, Ralph FiennesAND Jason Clarke they are on the list of possible actors.

Years ago, Mendelsohn said he would have liked to play Doom, long before he was given the role of Talos. He spoke about the character at the time and explained what makes him one of the greatest comic book characters of all time:

“[He] he is the greatest comedic character of all time. What’s really appealing about Victor is the damage and the trauma, the loss of family, the wrong done to him, then the revenge and taking power. Then there’s the protection of Latveria wrapped in that Cold War atmosphere. What makes him truly great is the caring part of him. That’s the beauty of Doctor Doom, and I really like it!”

Doom is not expected to play a major role Fantastic Fourbut it will prepare him for his evil journey in the MCU.

Pedro Pasquale will play the role of Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic in the film, Venessa Kirby (Napoleon) is up for the role of Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Woman Joseph Quinn (Stranger things) as Johnny Storm, aka The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The bear) as Ben Grimm, aka The Thing. Then, there is Anya Taylor-Gioia (The Queen’s Gambit, The New Mutants) who is rumored to be in the running for the role of a mysterious villain.

Fantastic Four will be directed by Matt Shakman (WandaVision) from a screenplay by Josh Friedmanwho was brought in to rewrite the script originally written by Jeff Kaplan AND Ian Springer.

Being a project in Phase Six of the MCU, Fantastic Four the release is scheduled for May 2, 2025.
