Five years after filming the pilot episode Naomi Watts’ demolished game of Thrones prequel series, the first images featuring the actress in the lead role have emerged.
The project, which would have been called Red Moonwas developed by George R. R. Martin AND Jane Goldmann (Kick ass, Kingsman: The Secret Service), and Watts was supposed to play “a charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret.”
Hair and makeup stylist Flora Moody posted a selection of shots on Instagram from her time working on the series and said: “This is an opportunity to play with the shape and proportions of the wig. To see how it reads the makeup on the film. “We will work together to find the character that represents the director’s vision. Collaboration is KEY! This was an unreleased Game of Thrones prequel that I shot 4 years ago with the wonderful Naomi Watts.”
The series is set thousands of years before the events of game of Thrones, “the project chronicles the world’s descent from the Golden Age of Heroes to its darkest hour.” The network teased the plot with the following logline: “Only one thing is certain: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history to the true origin of the White Walkers, from the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend… it’s not the story we think we know .”
I was looking forward to this series and it’s a shame it never saw the light of day.
